~Is it April or November???~

Good morning! As you know...I'm generally not one to complain about the weather...but my goodness..it's downright horrible outside right now.....it is 37* with a bitter..and i mean bitter wind that is gusting and howling at 20mph...and on top of that...it's raining....FOR CRYING OUT LOUD....what month are we in! I'm sitting here at my desk...working on setting up the rest of the sellers pages for the new Mercantile and the wind is gusting at such a force...I can feel it sneaking in through the edges of these old windows! I finally got up and made myself some homemade hot cocoa....it's delicious..I've not made real homemade cocoa in years and now that I have made some...I'm asking myself why I do not make it more often!

Alright...I just wanted to pop in and say hello..I feel I've been remiss in visiting lately and I do apologize for that...lots of things going on here with the new Mercantile.....keeping up with another online class.....finishing orders...deadlines..and working on new creations..I have been working into the wee hours and back up before the sun......burning my candle at both ends you might say...I am loving it though and wouldn't trade it for the world!

~By the way...what is everyone doing for Easter....Tis this Sunday in case you forgot:)....I love Easter..makes me miss my gram so very much t hough...I LOVED Easter at my Grandparents house..and Gram made the absolute best mashed potatoes you've ever had! My Mom has taken over now..and she does a wonderful job...I can not wait to have that spiral sliced ham, mashed potato's, brocolli cheese casserole (which I bring) homemade rolls..the list goes on and on....mmmm!

Have a fantastic day everyone. Hugs, Doreen

Doreen,
Your weather in Vermont sounds just like here in Michigan. The wind is howling and I've got a nice fire going in the woodstove. Hot cocoa sounds so delicious ~ I'm sipping on some hot tea, thinking I should get busy. Have a blessed Easter. Yummy menu.

Except for a couple of nice days, it has been quite a cold spring here in NJ too! I'm thinking of turning up the heat in a few minutes.

I will be spending Easter with my family at my parents' house - this year we are doing a brunch instead of a dinner.

Hugs,
Stephanie

Hi Doreen,

I've been without a computer for a few days but have a loaner now so I'm back and boy have I missed my blog reading (I'm addicted!) What is with this weather??? It's snowing like crazy here. At least we know its going to get better soon. I'm going to my mom's also...she makes a broccoli casserole also ~ one of my favorites. I'll be bringing the ham (easy). I love family gatherings and holidays, there is nothing like them. Wishing you a happy Easter...hopefully with a little sunshine and flowers :)

Warm hugs, Jenn

It's sad to see tulip leaves with snow around them! I know spring is here, somewhere! But this cold weather has even quieted the robin's song...
Have a wonderful Easter, and make more hot chocolate!
Love, Debra

Hi Doreen!- We have been getting the same cold in New Hampshire as well. I actually still have snow in my backyard! Where is spring? Yum- hot cocoa sounds good! I don't make it often enough either. I have to laugh about all the comments I read lately about the yellow marshmallow chickies! My 21 year old son opens the package and leaves them on the counter to get stale- so funny- he loves them that way. He says about 2 days and they are perfect [lol]. Anyway, Happy Easter and anytime you want to post the recipe for the Brocolli Cheese Casserole, I would love to make it!- karen

It is freeezing in Ohio! I too have noticed that those little robins have stopped their happy chirping! We just enjoyed having our own children home (along with our two wonderful grandchildren)! So fun, but it's so sad when they are gone, the house is so quiet, no constant chattering and I especially miss the sounds of little feet running across the floor!...Doreen~enjoy your time with your own dear children and have a blessed Easter! Fondly, Kathy

Hi Doreen, I feel for you - I know just what you are going through with so many irons in the fire but I do feel that this is what fuels me - how about you?
I can't be happy with just one objective....filler up I say!
Can't wait for the Mercantile to fully open.

This Easter it will be just Doug and I and no big dinner - we're remodeling our dining room so no room for company so it's a 'working' weekend and my orders have mounted even more since our magazine article so that keeps me very busy.

HAPPY EASTER TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
Karen
