~The Joys of Family~

(cranberries & paper chains for my Sweet Annie feather trees)

Good Sunday morning everyone. As I write this I am enjoying the most delicious homemade bread....made by my dad.....toasted & slathered with real butter & fresh raspberry jam...It is fantastic! My dad has always been a great baker and cook and in his retirement he has decided to take up baking as a profession and his breads & baked goods are out of this world! When Spring arrives he will be peddling his wares at local farmers markets and other various homemade & handmade venues. I'm so excited for him..and mom..who is his partner in this new venture :).

(Kurt, Aneesa, Jenna & Ben at the Great Adirondack Corn Maze this fall)

I'm so excited this morning .... Kurt Ryan will be home this afternoon!!!! He actually came into town yesterday..but he was only here long enough to deliver Reese and then he headed out to a friends house for a birthday party. Aneesa will be home with her mom & dad for Thanksgiving this year..:( we will miss her not being with us but seeing your parents is very important..and...she'll be here at Christmas :)Now.... Reese is Jenna & Ben's pup...Mark & I & Kurt are babysitting. Jenna & Ben are in Philadelphia visiting Ben's parents...so they will not be here until Wednesday evening....Reese is such a wonderful dog! We all love him.... he and Odie get along great...they act like they've known each other forever..and Jacob actually likes him this visit......much different than his last visit...ohhhh my goodness.......Jake did not care for Reese the last time he was here!!!!
(A couple of my newest offerings...Available soon)

Today I will be doing some baking & cozying up of the kids rooms! And this week there will be a LOT of cooking & baking going on...as well as hiking in the woods with the kids, board games...card games, relaxing by the fire, sipping wine and visiting with family & friends . And then on Thursday...OH THURSDAY...that most delicious of days...we shall eat, drink & make merry!

~I wanted to share with you our new living room furniture & freshly painted walls...:)..We have been needing to paint and buy new furniture for quite some time now..a long time actually...but there just never seems to be enough time.....we finally decided not to put it off anymore.... We purchased the furniture..and the day before it was to be delivered..we painted...OH....what a long day that was... then the next day the furniture arrived..OH HOW I LOVE IT :). We painted the living room a rice cocoa color and the furniture is cream ultra suede..and unbelievably comfortable..
It's not completely done just yet...we still need to pull up the carpeting & put down hard wood floors and add a nice large braided rug with a bit of red in it....add molding where the ceiling & walls meet.....AND mark's blue recliner needs to be replaced.....but that will be a project for the spring...or maybe longer....usually when Mark & I talk about doing something to the house..it's 2 years before we actually get around to doing it....but..for now..it's lovely & cozy..which is just what we wanted! :)

Okay, I must get busy...I've a pumpkin pie to make! Oh...I just LOVE this time of year!!

Wishing you all a joyous week of family, friends and love!

Happy Thanksgiving!

~Vintage Snow Folk~

Good morning. Tis raining on this Sunday morning..oh how I wish it were snow! I was looking back through my blog posts from last year & it seems that last year... we had snow on November 18th......it was our first "real" snow, those large glorious flakes which are difficult to see through.........SO...i'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll have some "real" snow soon :).

Actually....the reason I was looking back through last years posts was that I was looking for the name of the WONDERFUL candle scent I had purchased from my friend Michelle of Blackberry Briar last year.....I wanted to order another of the same scent...it was so wonderful....if you've not tried The Blackberry Briar's candles & room sprays...definitely do so ..gracious they are wonderful. "Christmas Past" is my all time favorite...it truly smells just like a fresh cut Christmas Tree! Last year..the day these candles arrived, it was snowing like crazy...the wonderful heavy snow I mentioned above.....I was hoping Tink would send the snow along with the candles again this year.....but alas, she did not. :) However, I lit my wonderful candle & put on "The Holiday"..(one of my top 10 favorite holiday movies) & I forgot all about the fact that it wasn't snowing!!

Moving on to my offerings for this month.....or should I say..offering.....as I have just one this time around as I'm busy preparing for my next show; "Christmas In The Country". The sweet blackened beeswax snow folk you see in the picture at the top of this post is available on The Primitive Gathering. I think he is just SO sweet..he's hard to make..I find the vintage molds difficult to use...However, I did manage to pour several for the show..as well as have a couple available online. This month we are having a giveaway on The Primitive Gathering so be sure & stop by and sign up..there are some wonderful gifts being offered from the very talented ladies in this group.

This morning before heading into the studio to create for a bit, I shall put an Orange coffee cake in the oven to fill the house with it's delightful fragrance while I work.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone :)

~Flurry & Young Kurt, They wanted to pose together for a photo~

Good morning everyone & welcome to November. Soon...very SOON...it will be snowing...oh I shall be in heaven then :) I do apologize but I'm going to have to make this brief...my carpel tunnel is absolutely awful...worse than it's ever been in fact ... & after writing newsletters, doing uploads, descriptions and all that good stuff it's literally to the point of making me sick to my stomach it hurts so bad. So..that being said..I have 5 new offerings for this update..I LOVE them all!
