It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see. ~Henry David Thoreau

~Isn't it funny how different two days can be...yesterday was one of those days where I ran around and did a hundred different things and felt like I had accomplished nothing yet today is an entirely different story. I've already packed & sent three packages on their way, mixed up a new batch of blackened beeswax & poured 4 orders, tidied up the house and put in a load of laundry and it's only 10:30 :) ~

Yesterday, in order to make my whole errand running experience a bit more pleasant, I visited one of my absolute favorite places...the Library. Oh how I love the library. It's someplace that, if it were closer & I had the time, I would visit almost daily. My favorite library, the one I've been going to since childhood, is in nearby Poultney, VT, which is about 20 minutes from here. It's a huge old stone building that literally has not changed since I was a child and I LOVE it. I always walk away with such an enormous pile of books that it's difficult for me to make my way to my car and nearly impossible to open the door myself. Thankfully there is usually a kind and courteous person that offers a "may I offer a hand" and then of course there is always the question while they are opening the door of my car...."are you doing research of some kind?".....................................

"well, my goodness, whatever gave you that idea?.................:)"

When I arrived home the post man had left some packages on the front porch..another favorite thing of mine :).....in one was this beautiful mohair below...lovely rich browns and some white...all Winter moppets need these particular colors you see.......
...........in another package was this gorgeous deep green vintage velor (the red velvet ribbon I've had for a while now) Put together like this...doesn't it look so festive & inspiring....I can not wait to dig in & create,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

And below..in yet another package was some desperately needed needles & threads.... I am always in need of both...threads I go through rather quickly and needles seem to disappear ...I'm not exactly sure where they run off to......

And lastly there was some lovey heather blue, Ivory & cocoa wool ...just right for dainty little paw pads, collars and whathaveyou.................

I'm off now...........I must keep this productive day going......Enjoy your day and it's been so very lovely visiting with you :)

14 delightful friends dropped in for a visit:

Good morning Doreen...sounds like your days (even though different from each other) are very normal - typical I'd say! Experienced them like that often.
I very much dislike the busy days when you feel nothing has gotten done but if you look back...they certainly did get done.

What wonderful goodies packages. Oh don't you just love fabric of any kind. I think it's a THING with me...I have way too much of it and never will use it all but it's so pretty all stacked up!

Have a great day!

Good morning Doreen...It sounds as though you enjoyed a most pleasant day! But please try to slow down just a wee bit so that you can fully recover, or you shall soon feel poorly once again. Do sit back with a cup of tea and enjoy a bit of quiet time with your lovely books...you deserve it surely.

Warm hugs and blessings,
Judy

Hi Doreen,

Days like that are so satisfying. Get lots done and off the list but enjoyable also. I'm the same as you as far at the library goes. We have a nice old library here in our town and for some reason the smell of the library and books just puts me in a good mood....weird I know.

Thanks again for the wonderful recipe. I've already had a request to bring it to a Halloween party! Pumpkin pie sounds yummy too on a day like today. Enjoy!

Sending hugs back at you ~ Jenn

p.s. I found a new bbc series on youtube that I'm addicted to called "Lark Rise to Candleford". If you haven't seen it you've got to check it out. I think you will enjoy.

Doreen, I just popping in for a visit to see what you've been up to! Sounds like you raided the library- are there any books left? *giggle*
Lovely fabrics and threads- where do you order yours from? The nearest place for me to buy good thread and fabric is almost an hour away and it's nearly impossible for me to find the time to make a trip just for that...

Doreen - I am the same way when it comes to getting things done around the house and I take advantage of the days I want to do everything because there are days I don't want to do anything! Have a GREAT productive day!!
Blessings,

So jealous of all your gorgeous mohair. I am in need of reordering myself. So spendy though. I am also in need of some more of your blackend wax critters. I will head of to order now.

I like the library too. In spite of the Kindle craze, etc, there is just something comforting about snuggling in a warm bed, reading a real book with real pages that turn!

Doreen you are too cute, I love that you shared you day with us. Old buildings, books, packages, what could be better?

p.s. I LOVE my beeswax order from you, they are the best I've ever purchased. thank you so much!!! Their scent fills the room I'll be heading over for maybe a special order.
