~Announcements, Changes & Happenings~

Greetings. I am enjoying a nice hot cup of cocoa on this chilly afternoon. I am told (by the weatherman of course) that it is going to be COLD here tomorrow with temperatures not getting out of the 50's....SO.....I do believe that tomorrow morning we will be starting our first fire of the season in our dear little wood stove. OH, I just can not wait!! I do so love a cozy fire

Okay...we have some announcements..changes and happenings here at Vermont Harvest Folk Art to fill you in on.....first..I need to let my wonderful customers know that due to a scheduling conflict (family weekend at Kurt Ryan's College) I will not be able to attend the Walker Homestead Show in MA on September 25th. I feel just terrible about having to cancel the show with such short notice and I thank Kris & Doreen greatly for being such sweet & wonderful people and understanding completely.

So..this rescheduling has brought about some changes..... changes which I have actually been planning on putting in place for some time now...changes that I finalized during our much needed vacation...changes that....when I arrived home and realized the scheduling conflict..........made me realize....everything truly does happen for a reason....

This wonderful "Wee Shoe Pin Keep"..I just love this!!! It's made using a wonderful Walnut Ridge Primitives pattern...I am hoping to make a whole bunch of these to hang on the Christmas Tree..I think they would look so lovely as ornaments!

And now for the Changes...I will no longer be running Early Work Mercantile. There is a lot of work involved in running a site such as this and I finally accepted the fact that I just can not do everything.....I knew I wasn't giving it 100% and that's just not me....so..I decided...again over vacation..that it was time to make some changes...

THANK GOODNESS...the WONDERFUL ladies of EWM understood ...THANK YOU LADIES...SO VERY MUCH FOR BEING SO FANTASTIC!!! I appreciate all of you more than you will ever know.

ALSO...THANK YOU WONDERFUL TINA OF THE BURLAP OWL PRIMITIVES who will now be taking over EWM!!! I am SO pleased that it will be able to stay open and continue to be a wonderful site for Early Works! And thank you again, to our faithful and fantastic Artists for staying and giving Tina a chance!!! She will do a fantastic job to be sure!!!

And now on to Happenings....now I know this is a ways off...however..I'm so excited I just can not keep it to myself..... We are planning a Home Show for next October!!! :)

~Moppets~

My fingers are flying!!! Mohair & wool are everywhere!!! Bits of stuffing are floating through the air..put in motion by the gorgeous breezes wafting through my open studio windows on this warm & beautiful September day. I'm snipping, shaving & shading..bringing little moppet's to life as quickly as I can...Fall is in the air & in my studio!!! I have a tray of wee clay pumpkins drying in the sun....black mohair & alpaca await my scissors as I play around with patterns...making this a little bigger..that a little smaller... I'm thinking Witches hats & black cats....owls, pumpkins & walnuts on strings & sticks.....dried leaves & grasses..soft pumpkin pin keeps made just for wee moppets to sit & paper banners flying.........Turkeys' & crows and perhaps some geese.....even sweet little Ellephant Enid wants to be part of the festivities and is trying on a few different All Hallow's Eve looks.

Ah...The lovely month of September has finally arrived...oh how I do so love this time of year.

Good afternoon .. We are back from an amazing, wonderful & much needed vacation ....I actually didn't want to come home...which is something new for me....usually after 4 or 5 days of being away..I'm ready to come home..this time..I was NOT ready and could have

definitely stayed in Maine another week or two. We actually went to Maine at this particular time, because my beautiful niece was married on Sunday!

Oh...it was sooo wonderful!....Is there anything more beautiful than an Oceanside wedding...it truly was breathtaking. My sweet Jenna was her Maid Of Honor.

Let me tell you...there were a lot of happy tears shed this day!! Truly...looking at the pictures..makes me cry all over again..:)
