~Joyous Halloween To Thee~

Happy Halloween to you. It is a perfect spooky kind of day here ....Tis dark and cloudy with a cold & blustery wind which is howling & swirling the dried leaves about, mixing them in with the snowflakes we've been seeing on & off here all morning. I've just put some homemade beef stew in the crock pot for dinner..I have made beef stew on Halloween for as long as I can remember......Since those long ago days when Jenna was a spinnie (her word) ballerina..and Kurt was a tiny little yellow Power Ranger :)..gosh I miss those wonderful days....they would have their baths early...get into their pj's and watch a spooky "G" rated Disney movie while I was getting dinner on the table..then they would put on their costumes and we would head out the door for a couple of hours...then we would come back home....wash up..pj's back on....have hot chocolate..put another Disney movie on and check out the goodies :)

Such wonderful memories! Now Jenna makes the very same dinner in their apartment on Halloween.....Kurt is their of course and they all have a wonderful time. I LOVE IT :)

~Isn't it funny how different two days can be...yesterday was one of those days where I ran around and did a hundred different things and felt like I had accomplished nothing yet today is an entirely different story. I've already packed & sent three packages on their way, mixed up a new batch of blackened beeswax & poured 4 orders, tidied up the house and put in a load of laundry and it's only 10:30 :) ~

Yesterday, in order to make my whole errand running experience a bit more pleasant, I visited one of my absolute favorite places...the Library. Oh how I love the library. It's someplace that, if it were closer & I had the time, I would visit almost daily. My favorite library, the one I've been going to since childhood, is in nearby Poultney, VT, which is about 20 minutes from here. It's a huge old stone building that literally has not changed since I was a child and I LOVE it. I always walk away with such an enormous pile of books that it's difficult for me to make my way to my car and nearly impossible to open the door myself. Thankfully there is usually a kind and courteous person that offers a "may I offer a hand" and then of course there is always the question while they are opening the door of my car...."are you doing research of some kind?".....................................

When I arrived home the post man had left some packages on the front porch..another favorite thing of mine :).....in one was this beautiful mohair below...lovely rich browns and some white...all Winter moppets need these particular colors you see.......
...........in another package was this gorgeous deep green vintage velor (the red velvet ribbon I've had for a while now) Put together like this...doesn't it look so festive & inspiring....I can not wait to dig in & create,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,


And below..in yet another package was some desperately needed needles & threads.... I am always in need of both...threads I go through rather quickly and needles seem to disappear ...I'm not exactly sure where they run off to......

And lastly there was some lovey heather blue, Ivory & cocoa wool ...just right for dainty little paw pads, collars and whathaveyou.................

I'm off now...........I must keep this productive day going......Enjoy your day and it's been so very lovely visiting with you :)
