~That's all I can think of to say....Ahhh....it's the only way to describe the wonderful and relaxing weekend we had. I loved it and actually was not ready to come home, which is most unusual for me as I do not... really like to go away. I am, very much, a home body and could stay home for weeks at a time and literally not leave the house and be perfectly happy (especially in the Winter). But, take me to the Ocean or to a lake and I could stay forever...I LOVE IT..it is completely and totally rejuvenating. It is my dream to own a cottage by the water and let me tell you...one day..We are GOING TO! (we may be 90...but..some day)
I thought I would share a few photo's with you of our time in Skaneateles, NY :) These are random photo's .....when I'm really enjoying myself and having a good time..I tend to forget to take pictures.....
While there we attended the high school graduation of Mark's cousin's son...Connor.
This is Chris & Wendy's home (the proud parent's)...what a great PARTY..we had such a fantastic time
I don't have a photo of Chris & Wendy..but I have one of Mark & Wendy....:)....
The Celebration Tent all decorated......
And the food..OH MY GOODNESS!!! This was just a smidgen of what was there...YUM!
(Mave on the...well, I actually don't know what this bouncy thing was..but the kids loved it..the adults went on it and injured their necks and backs...lol..)
...Is there anything better at a summer bbq than children's smiling faces..and let me just say..I may be partial..but I think we have some adorable kids in our family!

One of the highlights for me of this trip was visiting Lockwood Farms (A Lavender Farm) and meeting one of my Facebook friends... the lovely Karen Lockwood. :)
SUCH a beautiful place and such a lovely lady.
My other favorite part of the trip...Sunday morning mark and I walked down into the village of Skeneateles, stopped into the bakery for coffee and doughnuts and meandered around the Lake...so simple and so relaxing.

Birthday gifts from my husband ~they're made from antique silver spoons..OH HOW I LOVE THEM!!!
Thanks for stopping by :)Hugs, Doreen

Hi Doreen!
What a great birthday trip you had. There is nothing better then getting away to a lake! It's a great way to recharge and get the creative juices flowing! Thank you for sharing your trip with us!
Enjoy your day!
Heather
Hi, Doreen...what a lovely trip you took. You and hubby take a beautiful picture. I'm so jealous about the visit to the lavender farm. Are those antique spoon TAGS on the lavender?
Your spoon ring is very pretty, I had one years ago from a tea store in Plymouth,MA and gave it to my daughter. BTY, thanks so much for following my blog. There are some nice giveaways going on that you can see in my post.
Warmest Regards,
Susan B., Western MA

Good afternoon Susan :) So very nice of you to drop by. Thank you so much!
Lockwood Farm was just beautiful. I will be doing a show there next year at this time. I'm looking very forward to it. No, not spoon tags..those are earring and a ring..both made from antique spoons. MY FAVORITE jewelry! You sound like me with giving things to your daughter..I have a habit of that myself.
You are most welcome and thank you for letting me know about the giveaways..I shall pop over in just a bit :) Hugs, Doreen
Doreen, we live about 2 hours from "Skan-town", and it is absolutely our favorite place to get away to, usually staying at that big blue Sherwood Inn. Gorgeous photos, and a fun party--thank you for this beautiful post!
Happy "late" birthday. Looks like you had a wonderful time though. The jewelry is beautiful, what a great gift! Hope you get that cottage one of these days, we have had ours for over 10 years and never get tired of going there. Have a great week and weekend, Dawn
