People are often unreasonable, irrational, and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are successful, you will win some unfaithful friends and some genuine enemies. Succeed anyway.
If you are honest and sincere people may deceive you. Be honest and sincere anyway.
What you spend years creating, others could destroy overnight. Create anyway.
If you find serenity and happiness, some may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today, will often be forgotten. Do good anyway.
Give the best you have, and it will never be enough. Give your best anyway.
In the final analysis, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway. ~ "Mother Teresa"

Good morning. Tis a rainy one here in Vermont which is the absolute last thing we need here.... Thankfully, the pump seems to be keeping things under control in the basement. I can see however, that the river across the road is, once again, ready to leave it's banks....I just can not imagine what this will do to our already extremely compromised ground......For everyone sake..please let this be a short lived hurricane season.
I've just finished picking up the house and am about to mix up a batch of pumpkin scones to pop in the oven to give the house a cozy warmth...but first, I thought I would pop in and share this quote with you. It's so simply put and so true...Mother Teresa....she was a wise and wonderful woman.
Wishing you a most wonderful day.
hugs, D

12 delightful friends dropped in for a visit:
Doreen,
It is simply put a very sad but true topic and one many must learn the hard way.
I was just reading the Rutland Herald and what they are telling of all the terrible damage in your beautiful state ,makes you put ever thing in our lives in to prospective .I can not imagine what will happen ,if the next two days bring the rain that is expected to your area.I will pray that you all are spared this time around.
I think we should also keep Texas in our prayers as they are facing such a terrible disaster also. Stay safe Love you MOM
Your qoute really touched me today.I've had a few "bad" things and dissapointments lately.I'm usually a bounce back kind of girl but it was wonderful to have a reminder to keep being the good no matter how bad the others are...Pumpkin scones.Yummmm...I'll say a little prayer you'll be safe in the storms.Warm Blessings!~Amy
Be safe, and have a good week. Let us all hope for the weather to stay mild & "gentle".
Hugs
Ah yes, the rain on rain season. It's why we Brits have webbed feet you know ;o) Hope you don't get too damp.
Do love the quote, HAGD :o)
Hi, Doreen, so glad to know you are enjoying your day despite the rain and the threat it may bring. Pumpkin scones, yum.
Warmest Regards,
Susan B., Western MA

Have a good week Doreen ..love that bear at the top ..he is adorable !
I needed to read this today.... lately I've found myself wondering why in the world I do certain things. Now, when I'm in doubt.... I will remember this..... DO IT ANYWAY ! Thanks for posting. And please know that you are an inspiration to me, and many others in this world.
How beautiful! The scones sound wonderful, too! Scones are my favorite food...one I don't eat much any more...just for a splurge! ♥
Thank you very much everyone :) Hugs, D
Amy..I'm so sorry to hear that!! Keep your head held high and plow through my friend. sending hugs your way. D
A lovely and thoughtful quote Doreen...thank you most kindly for sharing it. I shall keep it close at hand.
Although the raindrops never seem to stop falling as of late, may your day be filled with sunshine and light...
Hugs,
Judy
Oh for your sake Doreen I do hope that God stops shedding tears and the soaked ground will get back some absorbency. I know that here in Oregon we get more then our share of rain but this has been an unusually dry summer and we can sure use a little, so send it our way please. All your creations are so special and I wish I had an abundance of spending funds that I could send to you. I love your little bears and have one that sits next to me at my computer right now. His name is Barlow and his little burnt wax mouse friend is Piwacket. You will need to go to my blog so see them sitting beside me.
Keep up the great work and stop by for a visit and some hot cider sometime my friend. We are only a few thousand miles by car but just a few seconds by the internet. Gotta love technology sometimes.
Hugs, Jan
Hi Doreen,
I met you through Marilyn and so happy that I have. Your sweet soul comes through here on your blog. This evening reading your post has helped me to stop fretting over certain situations. Thank you and Bless you. I am praying as well for your beautiful state of Vermont for the rains to stop and no more flooding.
Hugs and Smiles,
Susan
