Come, little leaves, Said the wind one day; Come to the meadows With me and play. Put on your dresses Of red and gold; For summer is past, And the days grow cold. Soon as the leaves Heard the wind's loud call, Down they came fluttering, One and all. Over the meadows They danced and flew, All singing the soft Little songs they knew. Dancing and flying, The leaves went along, Til Winter called them To end their sweet song. Soon, fast asleep In their earthy beds, The snow lay a coverlet O'er their heads. ~ George Cooper

Joyous Fall to you. September has positively flown by hasn't it. I can not get over how often these days I lose track of the hour, the day, etc.....exhausted though I may be.....I am having such a good time preparing for this Open House...Goodness, I hope I have a good turn out...I'm not expecting a huge crowd as it is my first one and I'm sure there will be glitches..but I am very excited!!!
~Hand crafted note cards, postcards and greeting cards, decoratively packaged with aged twine and early drieds.~
~The little witch looking in from the side is Mother Midnight, a fabric, wool stuffed cupboard tuck holding a grapevine and flax broom.~
I had a particularly lovely day today. I spent the day finishing my new waxed paper cones...aged paper dipped in blackened beeswax & filled with Sweet Annie, dried Sage & Rose Hips, while I was sitting on the living room floor surrounded by dried flowers and paper cones.....

I had our homegrown pumpkin roasting in the oven...mmm, goodness did it ever smell delightful in here. I have actually never roasted pumpkin before but we have a garden full of crook neck pumpkins, and I could not let them go to waste so..I did a bit of research and found out that these particular pumpkins are perfect for cooking as they only have seeds in the very bottom of the pumpkin....it was very easy...I guess I know what I will be doing daily for the next week or so.... :)
I also roasted the seeds...YUM!!! Tasty and very good for you.
I think tomorrow morning I will make pumpkin bread.....
Wishing you a wonderful evening :) D
