This morning found me sipping coffee by the wood stove in my favorite ratty sweater long before the light of day, sketching, writing and planning while the cold raw rain fell and the wind swirled about. I have been
burning the "pre-dawn oil" as of late, my head is so full
of ideas, writings and plans that sleep escapes me. I love these times..now if I can just manage to do all that I have in my mind to do!!

The lovely pumpkin gal in the picture above is awaiting completion. She had hoped I would find time to give her attention before the Harvest Haunting Web Show however, that did not come about and now she has been patiently waiting for me to find time to dress her..my original thoughts for her were quite different than the two ideas I am playing with this morning..I guess I shall let her decide which, of the two, she would like. :)
I am off now to bake a batch of molasses cookies before setting myself down to a day of sawdust stuffing pumpkins and pouring beeswax. Tis COLD here in Vermont...I do believe an early Winter is at hand..oh, I do hope it is a snowy one!
Wishing you a joy filled day....:)Doreen

Oh Doreen...your day sounds ever so delightful! I cannot wait to meet your new gal in the making.
Wishing you much joy, and perhaps a few, scattered, snowflakes!
Warmly,
Judy
What a charming, creative and delightful way to begin your day. It is cold and raw here but I am loving every minute of it. Have a joyous day and I cannot wait to see what items of beauty come to life. Hugs, M
Hello Doreen, what a cozy way to spend the early morning, my faves, coffee and a toasty fire, the best. Love the little prim pumpkin head, to sweet. Enjoy the weekend, Blessings Francine.
I will have to wait and see what Miss Pumpkin decides for a dress. Can you believe it snowed here in Adelaide today in October. It doesn't snow here even in winter. Very cold.
Hugs
Kay

Hello Francine. So lovely of you to stop by. It is a delightful way to start the day isn't it. Wishing you a lovely one. Doreen
Hello Kay..wow really?? How exciting!!! Though it is a bit disconcerting how all our weather is changing sooo! Enjoy your day. Doreen
I am very glad to have found your blog :). You are kind of a "mentor" to me - I am trying to figure out my new life and you are a very comforting, cozy, welcoming place to visit. This is lovely. Thank you for sharing.
And one more: I loved reading about your studio. Due to circumstances, my studio is mostly a bag that goes from room to room with me :) (The main supplies are in my craft room but I don't always work there) Reading your story made me smile. Isn't it really fascinating what stokes the creativity in us? Again, this is a wonderful site and I am grateful to you for sharing.
