~The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year~

About the woodlands I will go, to see the cherry hung with snow. "A.E. Housman"

Good day.  Our first real snow is falling on this dark and blustery November day.  It's hard to find the words to describe how wonderful this time of year is.  It's as if anticipation and wonder..... promise and excitement take a bodily form and become your constant companion for the next two months.  I feel so...I don't know..invigorated this time of year.   A million ideas burst forth all shouting "Me First" and I'm often at a loss as to who to listen to.  List are necessary...many, many, MANY list.  Right now I have so many ideas, stories, various projects and orders going that, if I were to sit down and truly figure out the time each one would need, it would most likely require my not sleeping for the next 6 weeks.  What's funny is....it doesn't bother me.  I love feeling this excitement for new projects and creations and somehow I always manage to make it all work,  do what needs to be done and ...a bit of the new and exciting and still sleep now and again.  Although, that sleep is often (almost nightly these days)  interrupted by an idea popping into my head and me having to get out of bed, put on my  robe & slippers and wander out into the cozy living room to my writing desk to jot it down,  the only sound in the house coming from the wood burning in the stove and the only light coming from the window candles.  It is actually one of my favorite times of the day!

I hope this time of year brings you the feeling of excitement...it truly is the most wonderful time of the year.

What a delightful post. It is an exciting time for me as well although totally different to yours. Getting ready for the festive season is wonderful although not the cosy fire here. It is our summer and it is shorts and T shirts long cool drinks under the tree in the back yard, people over for BQ's Lazy simmer nights on the veranda with the heady scent of flowers. What an interesting world we live in.

Dear Doreen, I love your beautiful snow girl! She is so sweet and angelic looking. The photo is just lovely! I love the quote you shared and your wonderful writings. I am glad you are enjoying this time of year and having lots of ideas. The cooler weather is such a blessing and I do so wish we had snow! I love the idea of a wood burning stove and window candles. So serene and homey! I feel the excitement too! Enjoy! Many blessings, Paula

Your post makes me feel so 'cozy' too. I just realized, while wandering around your blog, that you are very near to my Sister, who lives in Danby.
Enjoy creating!

Dear Doreen, You are welcome! Thank you for visiting me and for your kind words! I can see why Miss Winter is one of your all time favorite creations! She is so beautiful! I am glad you are having snow. We get a little here in Louisiana, every now and then, and it is so magical. Nothing like what you get though! We are planning on moving to Rochester, Minnesota soon and I will be able to enjoy plenty of snow there! :D

Thank you sweetie! I wish you joy too! Many blessings, Paula

And yes, there is something about this time of year that stirs my senses too... it makes me want to hibernate and create. (Hey, I made a rhyme! *grin*)
