"Remember the feeling you get from a good run is far better than the feeling you get from sitting around wishing you were running."
-Sarah Condor

Good morning.  Tis a beautiful one here in Vermont as the sun shines brightly down and the fog burns away.  On this beautiful morning I completed my 2nd run of the "Couch To 5K" running program.   Oh my goodness, I can not tell you how good it feels.  Even the muscle aches feel good as they are a reminder of the good I am doing for myself. I have always...always...ALWAYS wanted to be a runner.  I truly admire anyone that can do it.  All I've ever done is "wish I were running"  NOT ANYMORE!  This program is SO  doable...a 5 minute warm up then you walk for 60 seconds, run for 60 seconds in intervals for 20 minutes then a 5 minute cool down a 30 minute total.... for the first week, then it builds up slowly over 9 weeks and you are ready for your FIRST 5K!!  Seriously..I am so excited and motivated!!!  ANYONE WANT TO DO IT WITH ME??  What helps, at least for me, is the IPhone app.   It's seriously like having a personal trainer right there with you. :) LOVE IT!  It talks to you while you are running, gives direction and motivation, logs your progress and much more.  My trainer's name is Constance. :)  Right now I am running on the dirt track Mark made for me in our sugar woods..I LOVE running there, tho, before I run an actual 5K I will have to train on black top.  When I do that, Oliver will have to stay home, right now he is running with me which is great tho, I will be glad when he figures out it's not play time and stops bringing me sticks & crab apples to throw,  running directly in my path really slowly and  trying to grab my phone out of my hand.  LOL...goodness he's a character.  :~)

IN THE HARVEST STUDIO...................Bears, Bears and more Bears are springing to life this week, blues, browns, creams and blacks :) all so sweet!  I'm half way through the week and doing quite well with my schedule.  All my beeswax orders have been sent on their way and I've just one more custom order to finish.  Woohoo....:)

IN THE HARVEST KITCHEN.........Grilled Chicken, baked potatoes and fresh corn on the cob for dinner this evening. YUM!

I'm off now to get back to my stitching......Wishing you a Merry Day. ♥Doreen

ps...If any of you do seriously want to join me on this running adventure do be sure and let me know.

Congratulations, you are doing GREAT. Running on dirt is so much better for your joints.

Your four legged "traner" will get the hang of it and he will pace you and keep reminding you that it is suppose to be fun. It can consume you, been there, be careful.

Have FUN!

Hugs

Wow Doreen! I'm impressed!! and would love to join you. But first I have to take care of a medical problem I have. Hopefully the doctor will allow me to do this. However, I don't have an I-phone..hmm maybe dh can surprise me with one. Thanks for the inspiration!

Congratulations on you decision to start running! I want to be a runner too, but I need to pray about it first. I have allergies and asthma, and the pollens trigger my asthma. I downloaded the app and it looks encouraging, but I may need to find an indoor track, or purchase a treadmill. I'll keep you posted.

Way to go girl! The starting is the hardest part. How do I know? Because I haven't started it yet and I know I need to! Wish I had your motivation. Keep it up~
