~With My Needle & Hoop~

Tis a Windy and raw afternoon here in Vermont.  March would seem to be leaving us (or going out as they say) like a lion..of course, would we still say that when the whole of March was like a lion? Gosh, it's been so bitter cold!! During this, one of the coldest March's on record, I have been sitting by the fire, day dreaming and sketching away on summer and fall designs.  Olde Blue, who you see pictured here is one of my new designs and I absolutely LOVE it.  It's funny how things come together ~ I had put in a large floss order with Valdani and purchased this blue on a whim.  Odd for me as I generally do not use blue in anything I create.  But, at the last minute, I ordered a couple of balls mainly because I liked the name of it...*Seaside*..who doesn't like the sound of that when the temperature is 15* and snow is flying past your windows.  As it happens, when they arrived these three colors (red, blue and off white) where packaged in the same little box together.  Well, the moment I saw them I knew I had to make something with them.  That got me thinking.  I was born on July 3rd..actually, just a few minutes before The Fourth Of July. Yet, as much as I love the month of July and, in particular, July 4th, I hardly ever create anything that speaks of summer, the ocean, whales (one of my all-time favorite animals) Patriotism, fireworks etc.  Hence, this design..and several others not yet in my hoop, have been sketched and are in the works.  I'm am loving them & having an absolute blast!

Wishing you a lovely day :)D
