I appreciated so much your Sept. 2nd post and the generous outpouring of your concern for the "Vermont family" left in the wake of Irene's devastation. We were with our daughter and son-in-law, in Whiting, when the fury hit... They just bought their first home, an 1860 fixer-upper! He works for CVPS... so you know he was busy! They are fine and we made it back to south jersey the following Tuesday. Even here, we had bridges out, homes under 6 plus feet of water, etc. A 9th generation farm family up in Addison County dropped us a note last week saying he remembered the flood of 1927 and it paled in comparison to the devastation that Irene wrought. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
